We are seeking a dedicated Production Engineer to ensure our manufacturing processes are streamlined and cost-efficient while maintaining high-quality standards. This role is ideal for someone with a background in electronics and/or electro-mechanical assembly environments who is passionate about lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.



Day-to-day of the role:

  • Evaluate and refine manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Examine work instructions, tooling, jigs, and other assembly aids to ensure optimal use.
  • Support the Production department to meet manufacturing deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Maintain plant and resources through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to support the production plan and extend equipment longevity.
  • Foster a safe and productive environment for all staff.
  • Embrace and implement lean philosophies, making continuous improvement a core aspect of the production engineering department.
  • Innovate manufacturing processes and adopt new techniques for continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support, advice, and assistance to the site Facilities Manager.
  • Coach and mentor technical apprentices.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in production engineering within a low to medium volume, high mix, fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in electronics and/or electro-mechanical assembly environments.
  • Degree/HNC/HND in engineering or a science-related discipline is preferable.
  • Proficiency in practical problem-solving techniques such as 8D, PFMEA.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Computer literacy, especially in Excel.
  • CNC experience is preferred.
  • Programming and CAD experience are advantageous but not essential.
