PRODUCTION CONTROLLER

Production Control / Production Scheduler

 

Fantastic opportunity for a Production Controller to join an established design, development and manufacturer of complex mechanical products due to ongoing growth and strong sales.

 

This is a key Production Control role within the business to support the Production Manager assisting with scheduling and allocating work across the machining, fabrication and assembly areas.   You will ensure the operations team / people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements, and to achieve quality and safety standards.

 

There will be considerable scope to identify and implement improvements in addition to the day to day responsibilities.

 

Key accountabilities for Production Controller will be:

 

Scheduling and allocation of work and resources / capacity planning

Ensure appropriate materials and consumables are available to complete the tasks ahead and ensure that stock levels and movements are accurately recorded.  This will include ensuring your team have the drawings and work instructions required

Planning overall manufacturing requirements on a multi project basis and updating customers on status and delivery schedule

Assist in the collation and reporting of product costings, material usage, time taken, quality, on-time delivery and similar

Identifying areas for continuous improvement / lean and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the shop floor and supply chain   to reduce cost and assembly time and improving quality or ease of build.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Prior production control / planning experience gained within a manufacturing environment.
  • HNC / D + Engineering qualification (or equivalent working experience in engineering)
  • Capacity Planning / scheduling expereince
  • Good level of PC literacy, including MRP/ERP experience
