Job Overview

As Site Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the development. Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining a safe working environment. This role involves supervising site activities, managing subcontractors, and coordinating resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision and Management:

  • Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring the smooth running of construction operations.
  • Direct and supervise subcontractors, laborers, and other personnel on-site.
  • Ensure the project adheres to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings, site inductions, and risk assessments.
  • Address and mitigate any safety concerns immediately.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Inspect and monitor construction work to ensure it meets design specifications, building codes, and client expectations.
  • Address defects, and non-conformance issues, and resolve technical challenges effectively.

Project Coordination:

  • Plan and schedule daily and weekly work to meet project deadlines.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials, equipment, and resources to ensure efficiency.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and the project manager to resolve design or site issues.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as the main point of contact between the client, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on site progress, safety, and budgets to the Project Manager.
  • Manage and resolve any on-site conflicts or issues that arise.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, material deliveries, and attendance records.
  • Prepare reports on site progress, safety incidents, and any deviations from plans.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in managing residential construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction processes, building codes, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols specific to the construction industry.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

  • Ability to identify, analyse, and resolve challenges efficiently.
  • Experience handling project changes, delays, or unforeseen circumstances effectively.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in construction management software and basic computer applications (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme), SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), and First Aid.
