Working under the Design Manager as part of the engineering design team, your role as the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will include:

• Producing designs for a wide range of automated special-purpose machinery
• Producing mechanical and material calculations
• Diagnosing modifications and improvements to existing equipment
• Ensuring design & manufacturing feasibility of solutions

As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

• Have previous experience in bespoke machinery design
• Have confident knowledge of material handling systems
• Have experience designing hydraulic/fluid power systems
• Have confident experience of design for manufacture
• Be confident in managing your own projects from beginning to end
• Be able to support manufacturing and installation activities
• Be able to support junior engineers
• Be able to communicate with colleagues & customers effectively

Desirable skills:

• Experience in Solidworks
• Experience in AutoCAD
• Experience of the coil processing industry
• Experience of machine assembly and installation
