Essential experience: Working in a hospital setting is required for this role with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a secretarial role with formal secretarial qualifications.

We are pleased to represent a client based in Wolverhampton as they search for a Medical Secretary to deliver exceptional administrative and secretarial support to the Responsible Clinician and Multi-disciplinary Team.

An independent hospital, set within its own beautiful grounds, boasts an extensive refurbishment to provide accommodation and treatment facilities for up to fifteen children and young people. Their CAMHS-ED service dedicates substantial resources to the mental health and wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable children, involving professional collaboration and partnership with local organisations, families, and caregivers

Responsibilities as a Medical Secretary

  • Provide secretarial support to the Responsible Clinician, including typing reports, letters, and performing general administrative duties as needed.
  • Offer administrative support for the MDT, such as booking rooms, sending agendas, and taking minutes during ward rounds, CPAs, care reviews, and other clinical meetings.
  • Schedule appointments and make necessary bookings.
  • Enter all required data into the hospital's EPR system.
  • Maintain filing and administrative systems to ensure information is easily accessible and secure.
  • Communicate with various disciplines both within and outside the hospital on behalf of the Responsible Clinician and the MDT.
  • Assist in gathering statistics and information as needed.
  • Cover reception during periods of annual leave or sickness.
  • Perform any other general administrative duties required by the Responsible Clinician or MDT.

As a Medical Secretary, the post holder is to be expected to have access to a range of confidential information relating to their patients, staff and the company which under no circumstances should be divulged to any unauthorised person.
