Occupational Health Nurse

Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational health cover to agency staff
- They would actively support the Company health campaigns within the engagement plan improving staff turnover
- Home visits would support long term sick return to work reducing absence
- They will be able to advise the site on any changes in law / legislation etc, minimising the legal risks to the company
- Food handler assessments
- Advise on preventative healthcare
- The main part of the role is to undertake confined space health assessments and fork lift drivers health assessments and night shift workers assessments
- There will be management referrals and advise regarding capability and rehabilitation
Key Skills
Essential
Qualification:
- Degree in Occupational Health
Experience / Knowledge:
- Forklift Truck medicals
- DSE assessment (The assessment can be done by anyone trained in DSE assessment, but Occupational Health need to be involved if any problems are found)
- Night Worker Medicals
- New and Expectant Mothers Risk Assessment (manager and OH)
- Skin surveillance
- Engineers' medicals (new starters test for colour blindness)
- LGV medicals (this is done by the drivers GP and certificates kept with managers)
- Vibration White finger
- Lead, Asbestos, Radiation
