RM Recruit are delighted to be working with a School based in Wolverhampton who are seeking a bright, well-articulated School Business Manager to join their team on a temporary term-time only basis. This role involves working 3 days per week and based onsite. The ideal candidate will be immediately available or available on short notice.

You will act in support of the Head Teacher as an administrative and financial manager for the school.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the management of all funds received by the school, ensuring that appropriate accounting procedures are implemented, understood, and adhered to by staff.
  • Maintain and administer all financial accounts, including petty cash and school funds, associated with the school.
  • Monitor the approved budget, update the inventory, and conduct audits, as necessary.
  • Manage the operation of uniform and other retail activities within the school.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of the budget plan for submission to the Governing Body.
  • Monitor school budget expenditure, highlight any concerns to the Head Teacher, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare financial reports for the Governing Body and the Head Teacher as required.
  • Ensure that effective and efficient administrative arrangements and procedures are in place, understood, and followed by all office staff, with regular monitoring to ensure compliance.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with a natural ability to establish and maintain relationships effortlessly. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise workload efficiently are essential. The candidate should have prior experience in a similar role, demonstrating a solid foundation of relevant transferable skills.
