7.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4.30pm - split shifts

As a Driver, you will play a crucial role in transporting service users, including individuals with mobility impairments, to and from various venues throughout the area. This includes special schools, day-training centres, and community services. Your commitment to safety and customer-focused attitude will ensure that every journey is a positive experience for everyone involved.

  • Safely operate passenger-carrying vehicles (up to 17-seat capacity) in accordance with traffic legislation and organisational policies.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure road-worthiness and report any deficiencies.
  • Assist service users as they board and alight, offering support to those with mobility challenges and ensuring their comfort throughout the journey.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicles and carry out necessary vehicle washing and cleaning.
  • Ensure that all necessary equipment, including wheelchair tie-down systems and seating arrangements, are correctly in place before travel.
  • Conduct risk assessments at service users' premises to ensure safe access and egress.
  • Plan each route efficiently while considering service users' individual needs, such as medication schedules and special equipment.
  • A valid D1 Driving Licence is essential.
  • Experienced drivers who hold a Driver CPC qualification are preferred but not mandatory.
  • A caring and respectful demeanour, particularly when assisting vulnerable individuals.
  • A keen attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
