A fantastic opportunity for a Buyer/Purchasing or Procurement Specialist to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Wolverhampton with a salary between £35,000-£40,000. The Buyer will sit in the purchasing team with excellent progression and development opportunities.

Candidates will have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within a manufacturing environment, at buyer or junior buyer level and be keen and motivated to progress in their career.

Role responsibilities of the Buyer include:

  • Managing spends on various categories across multiple manufacturing sites taking a sustainable supplier centric approach
  • Negotiating stock holding agreements or other methods to enable smooth materials flow.
  • Purchasing Order placements for both system driven manufacturing materials and requisitioned parts.
  • Identifying potential new suppliers and negotiate best terms from all suppliers.
  • Involvement with NPD, NPI and engineering change activity and effective co-ordination of suppliers and stock requirements
  • Managing vendor performance including involvement with supplier audits.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in conjunction with cross-functional project teams.

Person specification of the Buyer include:

  • Experience of fast paced manufacturing procurement
  • Proven negotiation skills, contract management and the ability to forge relationships across all levels of the business.
  • High work ethic with strong focus on excellent customer service.
  • Familiarization of working with BoMs and ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Experience implementing new products and suppliers
  • Clean UK driving license

Salary

£35k-£40k

This role requires 100% on site presence
