Sonic Summary

The position is for a Contract Buyer with an immediate start available and working hours from Monday to Friday, including a half day on Friday.
The role involves direct purchasing within manufacturing, focusing on mechanical and electromechanical commodities, and requires previous procurement experience in a production environment.
Key responsibilities include placing purchase orders, ensuring cost efficiency, monitoring supplier performance, and expediting urgent requests.
Candidates should have experience with SAP, MRP, or ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, and a valid driving license is required.
The salary for this position is competitive, and candidates should ideally have a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

CONTRACT BUYER

Contract, Immediate start available

Hours - Monday - Friday (half day Friday) premium O/T rate

Innovative manufacturer is looking for a talented contract Buyer to support some of their key projects.

It will be a varied Purchasing role with responsibility for direct purchasing within manufacture supporting the team to procure day to day items across a mechanical / electromechanical commodity range for production, from mechanical components / assemblies including machined and fabricated items through to cables.

Key accountabilities for contract Buyer will include:

Supporting the Lead Buyer to purchasing shop floor items

Placing purchase orders for a defined range of suppliers, using the SAP / MRP / ERP system

Ensure lowest overall cost of acquisition.

Ensure suppliers deliver product to agreed delivery dates. Expedite urgent requests as necessary.

Monitor supplier performance

To succeed in this interesting Buyer's role, you will need:

Previouspurchasing / procurement experience in a production / manufacturing environment with broad based direct purchasing experience, ideally covering mechanical or electro-mechanical or electrical commodities.
A working knowledge of SAP / MRP / ERP systems and negotiation skills required (SAP ideal)
Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills pivot tables, formulas etc
Driving licence
