Butler Ross are please to be supporting a manufacturing & engineering services organisation who are looking to recruit a senior buyer to join their team, based in their Wolverhampton office. This position is offering a salary of £40-45k, dependent on experience, and operates on a hybrid-working basis: 3-days a week in office, 2 from home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiating favourable terms with suppliers and managing through contract life-cycle
  • Updating project procurement plans on cost and delivery; working closely with the project team to ensure successful project delivery
  • Performance reporting in relation to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Effectively managing stakeholders, ensuring that the best commercial outcomes are delivered in line with project/s.
  • Identifying critical/safety related long lead items, ensuring sufficient early supplier engagement to minimise risks and recommending appropriate sub-contracting strategy
  • Assessing, managing and mitigating subcontractor / supplier risks that could contribute to supply chain disruptions.
  • Supporting tenders - engaging with supply chain through early supplier/partner engagement in a formal tendering process ensuring on time and high-quality responses for bid input

Ideally you will have:

  • Prior Experience in a manufacturing / engineering environment
  • Prior experience procuring any and or all of the following - fabrications, machined components, sub-contract operations (or similar related commodities)
  • Strong negotiation capabilities including various T's & C's
  • Good Stakeholder engagement and management capabilities
