Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
Job Summary:
The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor will possess a strong background in cost management, contract administration, and financial oversight of construction projects. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Lead the preparation and management of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
- Tendering: Oversee the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting suppliers and subcontractors.
- Valuations: Conduct interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost control.
- Contract Administration: Manage contracts, handle variations, and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Site Visits: Perform regular site visits to assess progress, measure works, and ensure projects are on track and within budget.
- Data Analysis: Analyse data to provide insights on cost performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Client Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience in a quantity surveying role, with a proven track record in the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, CATO).
- Numeracy: Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a creative approach to finding effective solutions.
