Your new companyHays Policy, Strategy, Projects and Change is thrilled to partner exclusively with the University of Wolverhampton to appoint a skilled Senior Project Manager on an 18-month fixed-term contract, paying between £49,559- £57,422 per annum. This pivotal role supports the Strategic Projects and Organisational Enhancement Department in delivering their international partnership strategy.
Your new role As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of two strategically important projects, spearheading high-profile international academic partnerships and driving academic collaborations that expand the university's global footprint, more specifically, establishing educational and research-based agreements with various universities in India and developing a proposal to deliver online courses from within China. Responsibilities will include:
- Developing Business Plans: Lead the creation of detailed business plans for international partnerships.
- Onboarding Projects: Manage the end-to-end onboarding of partnership projects in India and China.
- Collaborative Programmes: Work with colleagues to develop and implement articulation agreements, summer schools, and other collaborative programmes.
- Contracting & Governance: Oversee contracting, governance, and risk management processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional frameworks.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with academic and professional teams to develop curriculum and student support processes.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the long-term sustainability of partnerships.
What you'll need to succeedYou will be an assured Senior Project Manager with proven experience of leading international projects within higher education. You should have knowledge of the higher education landscape and experience of working with relevant departments to establish successful partnerships. You will ideally understand designing and delivering articulation agreements, summer schools, and transnational education (TNE) partnerships and will be adept at stakeholder management, engaging and influencing senior leaders and external partners, with determination and tenacity to achieve necessary outcomes. You will navigate cultural, legal, and operational challenges in international collaborations and understand the commercial aspects of partnerships. Proficiency in project management methodologies, including budgeting, governance, and reporting, is essential. You will ideally hold a project management qualification and will be educated to degree level.
