They have a world class team, class leading next generation automation solutions and are set to grow exponentially over the coming three to five years.

The Role

You will be responsible for design, commissioning and development of automated assembly lines and machinery. Managing the full project lifecycle, such as design to customer standards, HMI design and commissioning. The controls engineer will design and program complex automation solutions throughout the project lifecycle, including installation at customers facility. Creating a functional design specification, you will work on multi line projects as part of a team, and also participate in continuous improvement activities across the department.

The Person

  • A minimum of 3 years experience programming automated production lines
  • Extensive knowledge of PLC and HMI design and commissioning
  • Exposure to Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7
  • Fluent in ladder, graph, and SCL languages, as well as proficient experience with Siemens WinCC, Allen Bradley and Rockwell software
  • You will have advanced knowledge of pneumatic safety principles and design, with experience of resistance welding, electrical standards and latest safety standards
  • A strong understanding of motion controls and robot integration, able to troubleshoot issues on a automated manufacturing line
  • Previous automotive tier 1 manufacturing experience would be beneficial, as well as industry 4.0
