The Role – SEN Tutor (QTS Teacher)

We are seeking a qualified and experienced tutor/teacher to provide one-to-one SEN support for young learners in English, Maths, Science, and Art. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about personalised learning and helping students overcome barriers to education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored lessons in core subjects, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible
  • Provide one-to-one tuition in a home-based or residential setting (for Looked After Children – LAC)
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEN, SEMH, and other additional needs
  • Implement and contribute to Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Use de-escalation strategies to manage challenging situations with empathy
  • Support students in GCSE preparation and re-engagement with formal education
  • Maintain communication with schools, families, and external agencies to monitor student progress
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience working with SEN students (ages 11+ to Further Education)
  • Confidence in delivering face-to-face and online tuition
  • Passion for supporting young people with diverse learning needs
  • Ability to teach English, Maths, and Science (Art experience desirable)
