Your new schoolHays Education are partnered with a Primary School based in Wolverhampton, who are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant. This individual will need to be experienced in supporting pupils with special needs on a 1:1 basis. Hays are supporting the school to find someone who will have a lot of empathy and patience. The school are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can provide 1:1 support or supporting groups of pupils at times.

Your new roleYou will be supporting pupils with additional needs. These may include: ADHD, Autism or Dyslexia. You will help and support the pupils where needed, as well as making sure they are focused on tasks and may be required to take the pupil away from the classroom, in sensory rooms if required. You may also be required to support the class teacher day to day and help with classroom activities at times. The position required is in either long-term or day-to-day, with a possibility of going from temporary to permanent.What you'll need to succeed

  • Ability to work within a close-knit team of teachers
  • Monitor and report the progress of the pupil to the teacher
  • Ability to build a rapport and be empathetic towards pupils
  • Classroom experience within the past two years
