Are you ready to take the lead in driving procurement success within cutting-edge projects? We're looking for a dynamic and strategic Project Buyer to be at the heart of our client's procurement activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Location: Wolverhampton, on site role only

In this key role, you'll not only manage suppliers and procurement processes but also play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their supply chain. You'll collaborate with talented teams, negotiate game-changing contracts, and lead the charge on cost-saving initiatives-all while ensuring quality and efficiency every step of the way. The successful candidate will be asked to complete a security clearance check, before starting.

What You'll Be Doing:

Partner with Engineering to agree on material specs and timelines that keep projects moving forward.

Pro-actively engage with suppliers to mitigate risks and identify long lead items that could affect delivery.

Manage supplier relationships like a pro, ensuring contracts are upheld and suppliers deliver in full and on budget.

Work with the project team to handle contract variations and changes smoothly and efficiently.

Be part of the innovative 'Make v Buy' analysis team, driving strategic decisions that balance cost with efficiency.

Ensure non-conformance issues are swiftly managed, ensuring projects remain on track.

Monitor and report on supplier performance and technical queries to maintain high standards.

What You Bring to the Table:

A strong understanding of project life cycles, procurement strategies, and cost management.

Experience in managing supplier contracts, mitigating risks, and driving cost-saving initiatives.

Solid understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts (ideal but not essential).

At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement within a project environment.

BA degree and working towards MCIPS qualification (or already MCIPS qualified).

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with technical knowledge of engineering drawings and metallurgical properties as a bonus!
