  • Up to 25 hrs per week working mainly afternoons, after school hours and will involve weekends.
  • £11.50 - £12.50 per hr

We have an opportunity for a Family Support worker to join our "Outstanding" Ofsted rated Fostering team to provide support to Foster families across the West Midlands region.

As a Family Support Worker you will provide direct, targeted support, at the right time to our foster carers who look after children that are considered to have complex needs. This will comprise of supporting the children during evenings (after school), at weekends and during school holidays up to 25 hrs per week. Support will be tailored to each child and could take place in school, at the Foster family home, or in the community. You will also be involved in running groups at weekends and in school holidays where the children have the opportunity to come together.

The role requires flexibility and creativity and the ability to engage and build relationships with children with a range of complex needs; experience of working with children with Learning disabilities is an advantage. You will be supporting families in the Walsall, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, and surrounding areas and must be a car driver to provide this support. Mileage will be paid for travel. You may be required to attend visits across the wider West Midlands area from time to time to support the wider team.

We are looking for individuals who are energetic and passionate about providing direct support to children and doing so in a way which is focused on achieving specific outcomes in a fun and engaging way. You will engage with multi-agency professionals and will be required to produce reports summarising the support you provide and evidence of outcomes that you are delivering and be a key individual in the life journey of the child. You will also attend meetings to support the child including LAC, PEP and TAC meetings.
