Join our client's team as a Family Group Decision Maker and Mediation Facilitator and make a positive impact on children and families in need. We are looking for a compassionate individual with experience in social care or a related field to join their organisation in Wolverhampton.

At our client's organisation, they believe in the power of family and the importance of preventing family breakdown. As a Family Group Decision Maker and Mediation Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in helping families stay together and providing them with the support they need. Through the adoption of a whole family approach, you will work closely with children, young people, and their families on the edge of care and family help.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conduct Family Group Decision Making and Mediation sessions to facilitate open and constructive communication within families.
  • Work directly with children, young people, and families to promote their potential and prevent significant harm or the need for children to be looked after.
  • Hold a caseload of complex cases, utilising a flexible and creative approach to provide tailored support.
  • Contribute to multi-agency assessments of children and families in need.
  • Help families identify their support network and facilitate family meetings to bring everyone together.

To excel in this role, our client is looking for someone who has:

  • NVQ level 3 or an equivalent qualification in social care or a health-related subject.
  • English and Maths or an equivalent qualification at level 2 of the National Qualification Framework.
  • Demonstrable experience of working directly with children, young people, and families in a health or social care setting or a relevant field for at least 2 years.

In addition to your qualifications and experience, our client values individuals who are compassionate, empathetic, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be computer literate and comfortable using case management systems for recording purposes. A valid driving licence and the ability to travel across Wolverhampton is also required.
