We are seeking passionate and dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistants to join our team on a part-time basis, working 2 or 3 days per week. This is an exciting opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally in a supportive and nurturing environment.Role Overview: As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students with a range of needs, including severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and communication challenges. Your role will involve providing tailored one-on-one or small-group support, ensuring each student can engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons adapted to meet individual needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support, focusing on learning, communication, and social skills.
  • Support students with physical and sensory needs, including personal care where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Help create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Encourage students' independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with complex needs (preferred but not essential).
  • A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A willingness to assist with personal care, if required.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
  • DBS clearance (required for the role).
