About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Wolverhampton. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and inspiring environment where you will make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs.

The school provides a bespoke education provision for pupils aged 5-19 with ASC/SEMH needs. The curriculum is carefully tailored to ensure every student has the best chance to succeed in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who shares our vision to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages all pupils to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

  • Supporting children with their learning and general wellbeing, helping them reach their full potential in a safe and caring environment.
  • Providing tailored support, including care needs and positive behaviour management, where required.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils to ensure they feel secure and valued during their time at school.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering high-quality, differentiated educational activities as part of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Promoting independence and personal development while maintaining high standards of behaviour.
  • Adapting to the varied nature of the role and providing support wherever needed.
Ideal Candidate:

To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Experience working with SEN in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • A GCSE Maths and English Level 3 or above qualification (essential).
  • A Level 2 or above qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
  • An understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a child-focused approach.
  • A positive, proactive attitude toward meeting individual pupils' needs.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own car (desirable).
