This special school based in Tettenhall is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team.Role Type: Full-Time/Part-Time (flexible) Contract: Temporary, with potential for long-term/permanent rolesAbout the School: This Special School is a vibrant and inclusive community catering to children and young people with complex needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. The aim is to provide a nurturing environment where every pupil can thrive and reach their full potential.Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils, assisting with their individual learning needs
  • Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Encourage pupil engagement and promote independence
  • Provide personal care support, including feeding, toileting, and dressing, where necessary
  • Support pupils with a wide range of needs, including physical, sensory, and emotional challenges
  • Be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of pupils throughout the school day
  • Collaborate with the wider team, including SEN professionals, to ensure high-quality support

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude
  • Ability to adapt to the individual and changing needs of pupils, including personal care requirements
  • Comfortable providing personal care and supporting pupils with physical disabilities
  • A flexible approach to working within different classrooms and supporting a variety of needs
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or similar) are beneficial but not essential
