Prospero Teaching are working with a small, independent school specialising in the support and education of young adults with learning disabilities including autism, ADHD and behavioural issues based in Dudley.We are seeking a resilient, pro-active and passionate Teacher to join the team.You will be responsible for supporting the learners' educational needs whether academic or functional according to their individual support plan.Responsibilities as the SEN Teacher will include:

  • Teaching small groups of pupils within the classroom
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the pupils needs
  • Support other staff members to deliver high quality education consistently
  • Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of learners
  • Work closely with SEND teaching assistants to define appropriate activities for the learners in relation to the curriculum
  • Assess young adults who have long or short-term learning difficulties
  • Liaise with other professionals, such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists
  • Work closely with parents and guardians to ensure the best care for their child
  • Manage behaviour of learners.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Experience working with challenging behaviours
  • QTS / PGCE qualification or equivalent
