DA End-Point Engineer

Duration:     Temporary until July

Location:     Wolverhampton (Hybrid working)

Pay Rate:    Negotiable depending on experience

Hours:         37.5 Hours per week

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Be the lead and technical authority in the design, development and evolution of the Microsoft physical and virtual end-point infrastructure
  • Own the design lifecycle for this infrastructure, in support of both the Digital and Organisation Strategies
  • Work collaboratively within the Digital Architecture team, as well as the wider team of specialist technical colleagues within Digital Services and the wider organisation, bring significant expertise, knowledge and experience in the design and management of end-points and associated infrastructure, assisting the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives, and assuring the quality of the digital infrastructure in support of staff, students, partners, visitors and associates
  • A key part of the role is to design, and input to the delivery of solutions, and to facilitate knowledge transfer (including required skills) to Digital Services team members of these solutions
  • Evaluating solutions and services with a view to ensuring continual service improvement is also a key aspect to this role

Required systems experience:

  • Currently supported Microsoft client and server operating system
  • Enterprise-scale client management solutions such as System Center Configuration Manager, Intune and Autopilot
  • Client management solutions for other operating systems such as MacOS would be desirable
  • Enterprise-scale application deployment solutions
  • Client/end-user focused M365 and Azure services and administration technologies, including Azure Virtual Desktop and Azure Virtual Labs
