Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Secondary School Tutor to provide academic support and tailored learning experiences for students with diverse educational needs. This role is ideal for a Qualified Teacher (QTS) or an experienced tutor with a strong background in secondary education and specialised experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions for secondary school students.
  • Develop personalised lesson plans and adaptive learning strategies tailored to individual student needs, abilities, and learning styles.
  • Utilise effective techniques and resources to support students with SEN, focusing on a patient, structured, and adaptable approach.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, making adjustments to lesson plans as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, encouraging students’ self-confidence and academic engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) OR significant prior tutoring experience.
  • Proven experience working with a range of SEN, particularly with ASD, ADHD, and PDA, with an understanding of how to manage different behaviours and create a supportive learning environment.
  • Strong subject knowledge in core secondary school subjects, with the ability to teach across different levels as required.
