HGV Mechanic

Wolverhampton

£15 - £21 an hour + overtime – 5.5 days week with the .5 at 1.8

40 hours per week – Permanent

Role Overview:

Our client is looking for an HGV Mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will be working to conduct routine maintenance tasks, alongside repairing and diagnosing vehicles. Attending vehicle breakdown when necessary and preparing vehicles for MOT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly inspecting vehicles to identify any potential issues.
  • A high standard of service and repairs for vehicles.
  • Ensuring all work meetings safety and quality standards
  • Prepping vehicles for MOT inspections
  • Carrying out 6 weekly safety inspections
  • Keeping accurate records for work performed and parts used.
  • Completing paperwork and records.
  • Routine maintenance including but not limited to oil change, tyre rotations and brake inspections.

Person Specification:

  • Able to commit to working 4.5 hours on Saturdays
  • Experience as an HGV Mechanic working with HGV vehicles
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also independently
  • Strong co-operation with employer regarding health and safety matters
