Financial Controller
- Day rate: £250-£350
- Location: Ipswich
Our client are looking for a Financial Controller to join them on a 6-month contract. They are looking for an ambitious financial controller who is looking to grow with the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company’s growth and profitability.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Supervise and mentor finance team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Fully qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Post-qualified experience in a similar Financial Controller position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), and ideally Sage.
- Experience in audit and/or working within an internal finance department.
- Experience in Practice/Corporate Finance is an advantage.
- Experience working in an SME with exponential planned growth.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in team development.
