Job Title: CNC Turning/Boring Machinist

Our Client is an employee owned company and they are a world leading UK manufacturer of high specification alloy castings supporting global customers with an end-to end single service solution.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turning/Boring Machinist to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary: The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce complex and precise components according to specifications. This role requires a high level of technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Interpret sketches, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensions.
  • Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feeds for each job to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and ensure that machines are in good working order.
  • Conduct quality inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to improve machining processes and production efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Technical or vocational training in machining preferred not essential.
  • Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
  • Experience with CNC programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

You will work 37 hours a week. Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum plus Bank Holidays. Great benefits are on offer including: a highly competitive pension and life cover
