Job Title: CNC Turning/Boring Machinist
Location: Woodbridge
Our Client is an employee owned company and they are a world leading UK manufacturer of high specification alloy castings supporting global customers with an end-to end single service solution.
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turning/Boring Machinist to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary: The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce complex and precise components according to specifications. This role requires a high level of technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpret sketches, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensions.
- Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feeds for each job to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and ensure that machines are in good working order.
- Conduct quality inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to improve machining processes and production efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Technical or vocational training in machining preferred not essential.
- Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
- Experience with CNC programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
