Are you a passionate Chef looking for a rewarding role where you can make a difference in people's lives? We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our team and provide nutritious, delicious meals for our residents while ensuring that health, safety, and hygiene standards are always met.

About the Role:
As a Chef, you will be responsible for planning and preparing daily menus that cater to the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents. You'll ensure that all food is fresh, within budget, and served with a focus on quality and presentation. You'll also take charge of maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, implementing health and safety standards, and leading a team of kitchen staff to achieve excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prepare daily menus to meet the dietary requirements and preferences of our residents.
  • Create meals that are both tasty and visually appealing while managing food costs effectively.
  • Monitor food stocks, order supplies, and maintain accurate records of inventory.
  • Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served according to the highest hygiene and safety standards.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and service.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety procedures, including proper food handling and storage.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and organised, including regular deep cleaning.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and their families, responding promptly to their feedback and requests.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent cooking skills with a strong understanding of various techniques.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and the ability to create menus that meet specific dietary requirements.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to motivate your team.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage your time effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
  • Food Hygiene Certified Level 2 (with a willingness to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications).
  • First Aid Certified.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.
