Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Managing Surveyor, you will:
- Manage and administer NEC contracts, ensuring compliance and optimising project outcomes.
- Oversee project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit valuations, claims, and variations in line with contractual requirements.
- Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
- Mentor and guide junior Quantity Surveyors to support their professional development.
- Liaise with project teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting and risk management.
- Attend project meetings, providing commercial insights and updates.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding and experience with NEC contracts.
- Proven ability to manage or mentor junior team members.
- Qualifications are not essential but the following are advantageous:
- Accredited courses by RICS, CIOB, or ICES.
- A degree with a numerical or technical focus.
- Relevant HND subjects such as building/construction, urban and land studies, civil engineering, or structural engineering.
