We are supporting a leading Multi Academy Trust, based in London, to recruit a Finance Officer on a temporary ongoing basis. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the accounts payable and receivable ledger as well as budget assistance, financial reporting, and other ad hoc duties.

Key responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices, ensuring proper coding and authorisation
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring outstanding payments and receipts
  • Preparing payment runs and ensure timely processing of payments, and accurate filing of remittances
  • Supporting the management of and other payment to or via school related activities such as donations from charity fundraising
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets in collaboration with the Finance Manager
  • Monitoring budget adherence and provide regular updates on financial performance
  • Supporting budget holders with financial queries and reporting requirements
  • Generating financial reports as required by the Finance Manager and senior leadership
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing timely and accurate financial information for decision-making
  • Supporting in the prompt and efficient completion of financial returns as required
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Assisting in the preparation for internal and external audits
  • Maintaining proper documentation and filing of financial records

What we’re looking for:

  • The ideal candidate will have proven finance experience
  • Experience working in the education sector
  • Strong knowledge on using Sage 200
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with colleagues and staff at all levels
  • The postholder must be comfortable with providing an enhanced DBS
