Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Performing Arts Teacher to join a nurturing SEN School in Waltham Forest. The ideal candidate will have a experience teaching both music and drama, as well as experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN). This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of SEN students through creative expression and performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging music and drama lessons for students with Vision Impairments and Autism with a specific focus on adapting teaching methods for students.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music and drama into cross-curricular activities and school events
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support for each student
- Implement differentiated instruction techniques to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
- Plan and deliver lessons that cater to the individual learning styles and requirements of EHCP Plans
- Contribute to the planning and execution of school performances and showcases
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Drama, or a related field
- Teaching certification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as a Performing Arts Teacherwith a strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment
- Experience working with SEN students and implementing differentiated instruction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Day-to-day
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering dynamic music and drama lessons, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students, particularly students with SEN. They will collaborate with colleagues to create a rich and inclusive learning environment, and contribute to the overall development of the school's arts program, with a specific focus on supporting SEN students.
