Junior Commercial Accountant

Location: Lincoln/Hybrid

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (Plus study support)

Our clients are currently recruiting for a Junior Commercial Accountant to work for one of the UK’s leading national businesses.  This is an exciting opportunity to work for a forward-thinking company that has a reputation of service excellence.

The Junior Commercial Accountant will be responsible for providing financial insights and support to the sales and marketing teams of the business. This position is responsible for preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting, forecasting processes, and preparing monthly management accounts.

The Role

  • Assist in the preparation of the commercial annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual commercial reports for circulation to the leadership team
  • Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas of improvement
  • Act as a financial business partner to the commercial team to ensure accurate and realistic budgeting and forecasting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for two business units
  • Support the commercial sales teams, adding insight and challenge to the budgeting
  • Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and operations teams to prepare detailed costings

Skills and Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified and wanting to continue studying towards a recognised accounting qualification
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Excellent Excel and IT skills
