Sous Chef
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Location: Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire
About the Role:
Our client, a charming and intimate country house hotel located in the picturesque Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, is on the lookout for a fantastic Sous Chef. This busy hotel, known for its beautiful setting, not only offers luxurious accommodation but also serves as the ideal venue for weddings, social events, business meetings, or a round of golf.
As the Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef and lead the kitchen in their absence. You will also provide support for the kitchen team, assist with ordering and preparation duties.
Sous Chef Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with food ordering, preparation, stock control, running the service and clean down
- Prepare, produce and present food to a high standard
- Work with both kitchen team and front of house staff to drive a successful service
- Train, guide and develop the kitchen team
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to
- Be aware of financial targets and ensure food wastage is kept to a minimum.
Sous Chef Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, particularly within quality-focused hotels.
- Passionate about food, with enthusiasm to develop and learn new skills
- Excellent communication skills, both within the kitchen and with other departments
- Experience in menu planning and production.
