Rullion are looking to recruit for the following Role :

  • Manufacturing Technician/Inspector
  • Location : Lincoln
  • ASAP Start
  • Duration : 12 months +
  • Inside IR35
  • 16.83+ PH
  • Fully site based.

The ideal candidate will have a Manufacturing background with Inspection experience. On a day to day basis you will be inspecting parts within the Turbine industry. Machinists with this background will also be welcome for applications from a Manufacturing Quality support industry with a Power Generation /Turbine industry background.



Job purpose

Operating within the Manufacturing Engineering Department to be the focal point of shop floor Quality related matters in their respective areas of operation. Dedicated to the elimination of poor Quality in manufacturing processes. Processing of Quality Control related documentation plus the inspection of components and associated processes. Will play a vital role in the development of quality awareness within manufacturing cells.

Dimensions

  1. Will support the financial target.
  1. No direct reports but will be part of a team of Manufacturing Engineers responsible for collective targets.
  1. Liaison and interface at all levels of the core manufacturing business. Specifically, a pro-active role in the investigation and solution of problems. Where appropriate will include assist supporting investigations at suppliers.


Principal accountabilities

1) With their team will encourage an awareness of the importance of quality by their commitment and approach to component manufacture quality related matters. Will be an integral part of the manufacturing group within the area of responsibility and will work together to achieve the relevant KPI's.

2) Will be instrumental in the reduction of NCC and awareness of quality ownership by reporting and communicating problems and more importantly ensuring sufficient focus, support and effort is made and is given in the pursuance of satisfactory solutions to problems and fault reports.

3) Will constantly interface with the Department and Cell Managers, Engineers, operators and fitters on the reporting of problems and the relevant corrective actions to reduce NCC.

4) To confirm the dimensional integrity of components / sub assemblies and review the documentation content of the process to determine the adequacy of process instructions ensuring the associated plannings reflect the necessary information to provide a consistent level of quality.

5) Where components / sub assembly inspection reveals discrepancies, they will assist in the investigation(s) as to the root cause and will provide component groups with the on line inspection criteria to ensure the process does not drift again.

6) To measure the work area quality by monitoring the process capability, liasing closely with process validation, source substantiation, PPQ and manufacturing teams.

7) Will give support to the first article inspection requirements, key feature measurements, supplier surveillance, final inspection and receiving inspections when necessary to fulfill the overall targets and milestones of the Manufacturing department. Using their knowledge and experience of the processes randomly select components / assemblies for sample inspection

8) Will be focal point within the associated work area for quality related issues constantly interfacing with Quality management and component group management in identifying priorities and workload schedules to the satisfaction of the teams internal and external customers. Where appropriate will attend group meetings on a regular basis to gain a full and concise knowledge of production programmes and priorities.



Knowledge, skills and experience required

  1. What training is needed for this job?

Process / statistical control, customer care skills, SAP, interpersonal skill, process FMEA.

  1. What previous experience is needed for this job?

2 +years minimum experience as an inspection technician / team leader / machine operative. Knowledge of Quality Control and inspection techniques is essential.

  1. What formal qualifications are essential for the job?

Minimum of a time served apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 in engineering or equivalent qualification/ However experience preffed if qualification is not applicable.
