Are you a skilled machinist with experience in milling? Our client based in Lincoln is on the lookout for a talented Setter/Operator to join their team on a permanent, full-time contract. In this role, you’ll be working with milling machines equipped with Heidenhain controls, handling rough and surface milling with some drilling. While programming isn’t a direct part of this role, we are looking for someone who’s comfortable making edits to programmes to adjust tolerances and keep up production standards. 

What you’ll be doing:
-    Setting up and operating milling machines for rough and surface milling. 
-    Carrying out some drilling work as part of the process. 
-     Tweaking programmes on the machines to make sure tolerances are spot on.
-    Reading and interpreting technical drawings and job specifications. 
-    Inspecting your work to ensure it meets high standards. 
-    Keeping the machines running smoothly with basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
-    Follow health and safety regulations at all times. 

What we’re looking for:
-    Someone with hands-on experience in a setter/operator role, particularly on milling machines. 
-    Knowledge of Heidenhain controls is essential
-    Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings with excellent attention to detail. 
-    A proactive problem-solver who’s comfortable working in a fast-paced workshop environment. 
-    Formal Qualifications are preferred, ideally Level 1 as a minimum – must have a knowledge of health and safety and be able to read from drawings

-    Hours: Monday to Friday Days Initially 7am to 3:30pm, with some lates 3:30pm to 2am with shift allowance.
