GSL Education ‘Lincolnshire Branch’ are collaborating with an exceptional SEN-based school in Lincoln and is willing to hire a highly motivated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This position delivers a special chance to assist students' learning and growth in a supportive, welcoming environment.

The Role:

As an HLTA, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored educational experiences. Your role will involve both classroom support and individualised interventions, ensuring that each student receives the necessary support to thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, adapting materials and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Helping students to develop their skills and achieve their educational goals.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Track and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate extensively with instructors, parents and other staff members to develop and execute support strategies that are adapted to the unique requirements of each student

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with children or young people with special educational needs as an HLTA.
  • Be excellent in communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexibility to support students with varying needs and adapt to different classroom environments.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
