Quantity Surveyor - Clean Water Treatment Project

A leading water treatment specialist is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a major clean water treatment project. This exciting opportunity will involve managing costs, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.

About the Role:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing costs, ensuring the project's financial success and compliance with contractual obligations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Cost Planning & Budgeting: Developing and managing accurate cost estimates and budgets for the project, ensuring feasibility and alignment with project goals.
  • Contract Administration: Managing and administering contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Procurement: Overseeing procurement processes, including tendering, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts.
  • Cost Control: Monitoring actual project costs against the approved budget, identifying and analyzing variances, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Variation Management: Evaluating and valuing variations and claims arising from project changes or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Claims Management: Preparing and negotiating claims against contractors and subcontractors for additional costs incurred. Analyzing and responding to claims submitted by contractors, ensuring fairness and compliance with contract terms.
  • Reporting: Providing regular reports on cost performance to project managers and stakeholders.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven Experience: You have a minimum of years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with experience in clean water treatment projects.
  • Technical Expertise: You have a strong understanding of clean water treatment technologies, processes, and equipment.
  • Quantity Surveying Skills: You are proficient in using quantity surveying software and have a strong understanding of cost analysis methods.
  • Contract Management: You have experience in managing contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Communication: You are a clear and concise communicator, able to explain cost issues effectively to clients and colleagues.
