GSL Education ‘Lincolnshire Branch’ are presently working with an astounding SEN-based school in Lincoln that caters to students with special educational needs and is looking to hire a qualified Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Graduate. This role provides an excellent opportunity to support the educational and developmental needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Role:

As an SEND Graduate, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and supportive educational environment tailored to each student's unique needs.

Responsibilities of SEND Graduate:

  • Assist students with SEND, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their educational goals.
  • Support the teacher in preparing and delivering tailored lesson plans, ensuring all students are engaged and supported.
  • Assist in tracking the progress of students, providing regular feedback to teachers and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Implement and support behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to develop coping strategies and build resilience.
  • Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents and external staff to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting students.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a degree in Special Educational Needs, Disability Studies.
  • May have previous experience working with children with SEND.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the varying needs of students and support different teaching strategies.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
