Astute's Power team is partnering with a large Energy company to recruit a Mechanical Technician for its site near Ashington, Northumberland.

The Mechanical Technician role comes with a starting salary of 47,000 + a great benefits package including private medical.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Shift Engineer you will:
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment.
  • Carry out fault-finding and rectify problems.
  • Work to site safety rules and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
  • Assist with scheduling outage activities as required.
  • Update the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Develop and implement procedures, instructions, risk assessments and method statements.



Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A time-serviced apprenticeship (NVQ level 3 / EITB) in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
  • HNC in relevant subject (desirable)
  • IOSH certificate (desirable)
  • Ability to work a continental shift rotation (days & nights)
