The company
An award winning SME Sub-Contract Joinery business, primarily operating in the Northwest region, with ongoing projects across the M62 corridor.
The role
This exciting role necessitates excellent communication skills to collaborate within the team, providing support and leadership to colleagues.
Collaborating with the delivery team to ensure tender documents are comprehensive and issued to a high standard.
Procuring tender costs from suppliers and contractors.
Conducting subcontract tender analysis ensuring rates aligned with the current market and presenting reports to the senior team and project management.
Managing site materials, placing orders with suppliers and builder’s merchants whilst adhering to budget constraints.
Generating and distributing regular cost reports, providing feedback on procurement targets, variations and forecast final accounts.
Ensuring all contractual and subcontract management obligations are met, particularly in procurement, procurement reports, measurements and valuations, contractual instructions, notices, orders.
Assisting in expanding the supply chain by sourcing local subcontractors and utilising the existing supply network.
Compiling Bills of Quantities / Material take-offs for ongoing project, collaborating with the delivery team and assisting in material procurement and management in site.
Managing subcontractors, including processing valuation applications and issuing relevant notices within prescribed timeframes.
Ensuring subcontractor valuations are processing valuation applications and issuing relevant notices within prescribed timeframes.
Ensuring subcontractor valuations are processed promptly with payment schedules issued to management to ensure accurate cash flow forecasting.
Finalising and agreeing on final accounts.
The candidate
Ideally a relevant degree but this is not essential
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in a relevant sector (joinery, dry lining, fit out, refurbishment)
JCT / D&B contract experience
Basic pre & post contract experience
Valid UK Driving license
