ML55- Building Regulations Principal Designer.Salary: Up to £65,000.Location: Oxford.Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Building Regulations Principal Designer on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The ability to offer specialist advice around the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations to both external clients and the wide range of disciplines as they require support.
  • Undertake plan checks and review designs to establish compliance for submission for Building Regulation approval.
  • Attend client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building regulations.
  • Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure project design is completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.
  • Inspect properties and buildings at key stages of the design process.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Possess specialist knowledge and expertise or demonstrable technical interest (could be sector specific or technically specific).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects.
  • An understanding of the design process and the principles of risk reduction.
  • A thorough knowledge of the Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Appropriate experience of the design and construction processes.
  • Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Salary: Up to £65,000.Location: Oxford.
