Principal Mechanical Design Engineer | Woodstock | £55,000pa - £60,000pa plus bonus and benefits:  MARS Recruitment have partnered a market leading manufacturer of high tech instrumentation to recruit a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer. Our client has steadily grown over the last 20 years but are going through a period of exciting investment into product development which you could be part of. Having recently launched a new cutting-edge product which is getting rave reviews and orders from customers, they have just moved into a state-of-the-art manufacturing site with amazing offices. The successful Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will need a strong background in mechanical design, ideally within the fields of cryogenics or scientific instrumentation. The successful candidate will take a technical leadership role in the development team, providing guidance and mentorship to engineers, and contributing to the design and delivery of innovative, high-value products. This hands-on role requires expertise in mechanical design, prototyping, and validation, with familiarity in using SolidWorks, SolidWorks EPDM, and SAP Business One (SAP B1). The Principal Mechanical Engineer will also represent the engineering function in cross-functional stakeholder meetings and play a key role in the continuous improvement of processes and tools. About you: The successful Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will need to be degree educated in a relevant Engineering Discipline; ideally Mechanical, Mechatronic or Industrial however others will be considered along with time served relevant industry experience. You will also have a combination of the following:
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, prototyping, and validation.
  • Background in cryogenics, scientific instrumentation, or a related high-tech field is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks EPDM.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business One (SAP B1) for ERP integration and data management.
  • Experience with regulatory frameworks such as CE/UKCA certifications and industry safety standards.
Our client is offering an excellent salary of up to £60,000 plus a yearly bonus, pension, flexible working, and a share scheme.
