Traffic Operator

TSR Ipswich Ltd are looking for a Traffic Operator to work for one of our highly reputable clients, who are based near Bury St Edmunds.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8am till 6pm

As a Traffic Operator you will organise daily routing of vehicles, prioritising workloads as well as briefing & de-briefing drivers regarding their daily duties and pre-planning work for allocation of loading.

Key Duties of

• Routing & planning vehicles on a day-to-day basis including back-loads.
• Building revenue to ensure profitability within fleet and targets are met.
• Telephone & emailing customers and subcontractors.
• Daily driver checks to ensure compliance is met.
• Ensure drivers compliance with drivers’ hours, RTD (working time) and tachograph regulations.
• Checking / approving drivers’ time sheets on a weekly basis.
• Managing driver holidays effectively making sure customer needs are always met.

Qualifications

• Experience with a General and Container Haulage role is preferred
• Have excellent geographical knowledge to ensure profit is maximized on all vehicles.
• Have excellent customer service skills and have a good knowledge of the transport market.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must have a sound commercial understanding of the general haulage industry.
• A Management Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and ADR awareness are desirable but not essential
