Applications Engineer

?? Location: Worcester (commutable from Birmingham, Cheltenham, Gloucester, and surrounding areas)
?? Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE + Benefits
? Hours: 37.5 per week (Flexitime available)

The Role:

Our client is seeking a skilled Applications Engineer with expertise in Windows-based software development (C# & VB6) and automation systems. This role involves developing, modifying, and supporting software for complex automation, mechatronic, and data acquisition systems used in cutting-edge automotive and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop & modify C# control software using Visual Studio and CADET API.
  • Support legacy VB6 systems.
  • Diagnose & resolve software, electrical, and mechanical issues in automated systems.
  • Interface with 3rd party equipment using protocols like Ethernet, Serial, EtherCAT, CAN, Profibus.
  • Develop automation sequences and tests using CADET tools.
  • Provide remote and on-site support for customers and engineers.
  • Assist design & commissioning engineers to meet customer requirements.
  • Source code management via SourceTree, BitBucket, and Jira.

Ideal Candidate:

? Strong engineering background (electrical/control systems).
? Proficiency in C# & Visual Studio (VB6 experience beneficial).
? Experience with automation systems (sensors, actuators, inverters).
? Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or Robotics Engineering with proven experience in automation.
? Ability to work on customer sites occasionally.
? Full UK driving licence.
