Monday to Thursday - 07:45am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:45am-13:30pm

Our client is a leading manufacturing business based in Worcester and due to internal promotions, they are seeking Laboratory Technician to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has current lab experience and would like to build on a new skill set focussing on ceramic and metals OR someone who would like to build a career within a Lab environment as it’s something they have studied previously at college or University.

The Laboratory Technician will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Technical Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA), New Product Introduction (NPI), Supply Chain, and Operations—to deliver a comprehensive and collaborative approach to provide testing results and analysis and driving continuous improvement.

Your key responsibilities

  • Maintain testing and reporting to relevant work instruction documents.
  • Responsibility for carrying out tensile testing of routine, cut up and appended bars when required and
  • producing certifications for conformity.
  • Mechanical Tensile testing
  • Test bar sample control and preparation.
  • Chemical analysis using Optical Emission Spectroscopy and its calibration for the chemical analysis function for daily production processes.
  • Control Checks and parameters.
  • Modulus Of Rupture (MOR) Testing
  • Permeability Testing
  • Viscosity Testing
  • Calibration of Zahn Cups
  • Refractive Index and prewet testing.
  • Liaising with the different departments regarding technical issues and delivering certifications.
  • Raising any issues or non-conformances.
  • Prepare micro samples for metallographic analysis as and when required.
  • Implement 5S laboratory cleaning and organization of designated areas in lab for documentation, equipment,
  • and desk/ floor space.
  • Etchline tank control titration tests on chemical pH levels and maintain documentation of results.
