A unique opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a specialised outdoor learning environment, supporting students aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role is perfect for someone passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives while helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role:The successful candidate will:•    Provide tailored support to small groups and individual students in a nurturing environment.•    Assist in delivering engaging and creative lessons, incorporating outdoor learning.•    Build trusting relationships with students to support their emotional well-being.•    Use effective behaviour management techniques to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.•    Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.•    Contribute to maintaining a safe, structured, and stimulating environment.

Requirements:Candidates should demonstrate:•    Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, particularly autism.•    Confidence, resilience, and a calm approach in high-pressure situations.•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.•    A commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.•    GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).•    Experience in outdoor or non-traditional learning settings is desirable but not essential.•    A deep and thorough understanding of autism, perhaps backed up by Autism Level 1and Level 2 Training.•     History of working with children who are disengaged with education.
