Role Overview
As a Solar Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential, commercial, and industrial properties. This is a field-based role requiring hands-on technical skills, strong electrical knowledge, and a passion for renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and commission solar PV systems on a variety of properties.
- Carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs on existing solar installations.
- Diagnose electrical issues in solar PV systems and provide effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members and contractors to ensure project success.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical information clearly to clients.
Essential Criteria:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
- 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations certification.
- Proven experience in electrical installations, preferably with solar PV systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical diagrams, wiring, and schematics.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, including safe working practices in the renewable energy sector.
- Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
- Experience with solar PV system installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of inverter setup and commissioning.
- Solar PV qualification (e.g., City & Guilds Solar PV qualification) is a plus.
