Details of Role

  • Liaise with freight forwarders for the costs of both airfreight and sea freight consignments, (LCL and FCL), obtain
  • sailing schedules, approve bookings and ensure correct documentation is in place for Customs clearance.
  • Arranging consolidated, full container and 'buyers consol’ shipments from the Far East, Africa and the EU, liaising
  • between factories and freight forwarders to ensure bookings are sent through and space secured on required
  • vessels.
  • Reconcile supplier invoices to load schedules, ensuring correct pricing and quantity, updating our internal SAP
  • system with shipment details.
  • Notify internal and external departments of shipments.
  • Produce commodity code listing and reconciliation to invoice and packing list for freight forwarders ready for
  • Customs clearance process.
  • Work with our finance manager and stake holders to balance supplier and freight payments.
  • Updating landed costs and stock revaluation to include fabric costs on CMT garments.
  • Carry out OPR approval with HMRC for the specialist fabric to be exported from UK suppliers to the Far East.
  • Ensure sufficient garment trimmings are in stock with all garment factories ready for garment production.
  • Track currency rates, record forward contracts purchased either through the currency company or bank, reconciling
  • usage and monitor expiry dates to ensure contracts are fully utilised before expiry.
  • Calculate supplier CNY or USD deposit payments on placement of PO.
  • Produce Excel deposit balance control sheet and 'stock on the water’ payment reports.
  • Work with yearly external Audit company to provide reports, OPR records and supplier and purchase invoice trails.
  • Work with HMRC for the import / export audit and also OPR audit, ensuring all paperwork trails are available and
  • accurate for audit.
  • Who we are looking for
  • Experience of working with freight forwarders to import from the Far East, Africa and the EU.
  • Motivated and positive individual.
  • Computer literate with experience of MS Office programs.
  • Great interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Hours

9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours a week, office based
