Overview

We are seeking a proactive Health and Safety Officer to join our team, who holds the skills to prevent harm and promote positive health and safety environment and culture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct, record and review safe operational processes (Health and Safety Audits, CoSHH, and Company Method Statements) in accordance with current legislation

• Conduct, record and review Risk Assessments

• Monitor compliance with customer requirements and regulatory bodies (SSIP)

• Review and control documentation of; Safe systems of work, SOP’s, Suppliers, On-Site Contractors and Waste control and disposal

• Responsible for the completion of statutory safety tasks

• Internal Fire Safety Audits, Fire Alarm System tests, Emergency Lighting tests, Fire Extinguishers tests, Evacuation Training, Safety Related Toolbox Talks, PAT Testing, First Aid, Accident Records and Stats, Workshop Equipment inspections and compliance tasks (LOLER, PUWER) and control of issuing of PPE

• Manage the employee Training Matrix

• Advise new employees on their health and safety responsibilities at induction

• Advise our projects engineering team on requisite safety standards and site safety control measures.

Experience

• Progressing company through certification of ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health Safety and Management expertise and IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health)

• Awareness of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

• Awareness of 18th edition Wiring Regulations regarding site safety and electrical standards.

Hours

Part time 24 hours, eight hours per day for three days a week (with half hour unpaid lunch breaks - for example 08:30-17:00) or 25 hours, five hours per day for five days a week (for example 09:30-14:30)
